NBTE Governing Board Chairman Gives Inaugural Lecture In recognition of her passion for education and interest in politics at both State and Federal levels, the Chairman of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) Governing Board, Prof. (Mrs.) Modupe Adelabu took her turn to give the series 334 Inaugural Lecture of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State. The lecture which took place on the 26th March, 2019 at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-ife, was titled “As it was in the beginning, so it is now: Politics and Education Policies in Nigeria”.

Minister Presents Operational Licences To 65 TVET Institutions The Honourable Minister of Education, Mal. Adamu Adamu has presented operational licences to 65 TVET institutions comprising 18 Private Polytechnics, two Private Monotechnics, four Colleges of Health Science & Technology, 33 Innovation Enterprise Institutions (IEIs) and eight Vocational Enterprise Institutions (VEIs).

The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has released the report of the Pilot Institutional Ranking of Nigerian Polytechnics for the 2015/16 and 2016/17 academic years with Federal Polytechnics Nekede, Imo State; Ilaro, Ogun State and Kaduna Polytechnic emerging first, second and third positions respectively.

The Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education, Dr. Masa'udu Adamu Kazaure has canvased for a system of skills training that ensures that all types of skills for employment are recognized and benchmarked on a common framework. Dr. Kazaure who wants a paradigm shift in skills training from the conventional Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to institutionalization of National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) said the NSQF is fundamental to the recognition, validation, certification and harmonization of skills qualifications acquired from different learning environment.

The Chairman of the Governing Board of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Prof. Modupe Adelabu has charged members of the Governing Board to treat education as an emergency second only to war. Prof. Adelabu who gave the charge in an address she delivered at the 80th Regular Meeting of the Board in Kaduna said education is the best panacea for poverty, empowerment and national development.

The Honourable Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, has charged polytechnics in the country to rise up to the task of producing best and efficient skilled and productive manpower. The Minister gave the charge in an address he delivered at the 13th joint convocation ceremony of the Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State which was held on 12th May, 2018.
