In line with the vision of the Executive Secretary, Prof. Idris M. Bugaje, and to further actualize his 3S agenda on Skills, Schemes of Service and upliftment of Staff Spirit, the National Board for Technical Education has developed guidelines for Staff Industrial Training (SIT). This will avail qualified staff opportunities to intern with industries relevant to their areas of specialization. This, the Board believes will help in strengthening the quality assurance mechanism of the Board by having competent workforce with requisite knowledge of the industry, carry out assignments in line with the vision and mission of the Board.
Since his assumption of office, Prof. Bugaje has introduced policies that have revolutionalised the Board in particular and the TVET sector in general. The training shall be between six months to one year, with payment of full salary as well as additional allowances during the period. The scheme will give preference to staff with interest in new and emerging fields.
